American Genesis profiles twenty-four of America's first constitutions to reveal biblical principles used by the colonial founders to established their first state governments. American Genesis takes the reader on a journey together through history and the Bible. Filled with study notes, questions, and quotations, students will learn more about the values of America's state founders than they can in school.

American Genesis has been significantly revised and redesigned since its first release in 1993. Best of all, American Genesis is completely free! You can download a copy for your computer or eBook device (Amazon Kindle users will pay small fee), or use this site to interactively explore the text and constitutions that put America on a course with greatness.

Did your state constitution once contain biblical principles and an admonition by the government to "Worship the Creator?" Most of the first 24 state constitutions contained whole paragraphs of biblical principles. Was your State one of them?

Before the Constitution, during that period in American history when States were forming their own governments—and for many years beyond—there were principles that shaped the ideas of liberty, conscience, and the vision for America. Those ideas were born from the colonist's unique experience with a tyrannical government, an understanding of history, and a deep faith.

American Genesis is a unique study of the constitutions of the first 24 American States, compared to biblical principles of law, leadership, and liberty. Many of the framers of these early constitutions went on to contribute the concepts that were later embedded in the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights. This study demonstrates how the framers wove biblical concepts into the various state governments—and helps track how many of the concepts worked their way into the U.S. Constitution under different language.

American Genesis includes instructions for use in home schools, Bible studies, and personal enrichment. Each chapter includes:

• Main study text with extensive, in context quotes of the early constitutions.
• Side notes of biblical references and questions for personal or group study.
• Open areas to note your own observations and conclusions.

For more than 12 years American Genesis was an online-only Bible study, but due to the many requests for a printed version, this study is now available as a freely downloadable eBook.
